Björn Wiinblad (Copenhagen 1918 - Copenhagen 2006)
The creative Bjorn Wiinblad worked in various disciplines, but was known for his decorative ceramic products. After his education in Copenhagen he went to work for Jacob Bing at the Nymolle Faïence factory. In 1952 he founded his own studio in Kongens Lygby and from 1957 he designed several ceramic designs for Rosenthal. The playful Scandinavian folk art and the mysterious beauty of Byzantium regularly appear in Wiinblad's work. He combined the old with the modern.
