Bülent EVREN (Isparta, 1955)

Evren is a Dutch visual artist of Turkish descent. He was educated in art from 1981 to 1983 at Ateliers '63 in Haarlem and shortly afterwards took part in two exhibitions at the Paleis op de Dam. He mainly paints with oil paint on aluminum plates cut to shape. The mythological war god Ares and Aphrodite, the goddess of love, play important roles in his paintings. He lives and works in Amsterdam. His work is in the collections of, among others, the Gemeentemuseum The Hague, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Museum Kruithuis in Den Bosch, the Fries Museum in Leeuwarden, the Rijksdienst Beeldende Kunst Instituut Collectie Nederland in The Hague, the Collection Municipality of Amsterdam and Borusan Contemporary in Istanbul.
