Herbert BREITER was born in 1927 in Landeshut in the Giant Mountains (Silesia). After registering for the entrance examination at the art academy, conscription to the military. In Austria since 1945. 1946 entrance examination at the arts and crafts school in Salzburg, as a prerequisite for applying for a residence permit in Austria. 1947 Austrian citizenship granted. Student of Max Peiffer Watenphul and admission to the Salzburg Art Association. Beginning of a wide range of exhibitions with oil paintings, watercolors, drawings and prints. Member of the Art Club and the Salzburg Group, among others. Various prizes and awards. Study trips and longer stays in Italy, Yugoslavia, Greece and Styria. Herbert Breiter dies in 1999 after a serious illness.
