Jan Goselink (1928)
Jan Goselink born in 1928 in Collendoorn (Hardenberg), watercolourist, etcher, painter. After his teacher training, Jan Goselink took drawing lessons and obtained the LO drawing certificate. However, he has always worked as a mathematics teacher and made his drawings, etchings, watercolors, gouaches and oil paintings in his spare time. He has a preference for subjects close to home and especially nature, animals and plants, is a source of inspiration for him. He has great admiration for the work of the painter and illustrator Anton Pieck, which has influenced his work. The Noord Veluws Dagblad wrote on 19 March 1983: “Jan Goselink's art is modest and uncomplicated. He works from an intuitive sensitivity to higher values in things around us, higher values visible only to those who face life with clean eyes. Especially in his etchings it remains a picture, atmospheric, but too little special. The subject does not present itself as something new. Jan Goselink's art is reflective, not persuasive, born more from the heart than from the head”.
