Marina Abramovic is a very special artist. She started out with sound experiments, but her work soon expanded. It is typical for Marina Abramovic to bring out self-harm and exhaustion in her performances. She has collaborated for a time with the artist Ulay, with whom she also lived. Together they created a lot of performances, including a kiss where they both blocked their nostrils with cigarette filters. They also both started walking at one end of the Great Wall of China and after three months they met in the middle.
In 2010, Marina Abramovic proposed a work in which she sat opposite someone for 1 minute at a time. She did this with 15,000 visitors. Among others, Sharon Stone, Björk and Ulay sat opposite her.
