Nicolaas Billiau, stage name Billio Nic, was born in 1950 in Ypres, Belgium. He is a sculptor and painter who uses very distinctive shapes with very vibrant colors. All of his artwork is hand painted and all are hand made, one of a kind pieces. Polyester Fiberglass, also known as "poly sculpture", a term invented by Oscar Permeke, is what makes up most of Billio Nic's sculptures. Animals and women are most inspiring to Nicolaas Billiau. Over the past four years, Billio Nic's artworks have doubled in value. About 40 percent of his artworks are sold in Belgium and about 40 percent find their way to the Netherlands.
