The Hague Plateelfabriek ROZENBURG
Founded by Wilhelm Wolf (ex Porceleyne Fles, Delft). After the initial intention was to imitate Delft pottery, in 1884 Th. AC Colenbrander work at Rozenburg. Colenbrander makes revolutionary designs for the pottery, but certainly also for the set designs. Rozenburg is seen as the top of the Dutch Pottery industry. From 1889, Rozenburg also became known for the development of the so-called eggshell porcelain. A very thin pottery, painted by the best pottery painters. Rozenburg also became internationally known for this pottery, especially after the presentation at the world exhibition in Paris (1900), after which many museums also bought this innovative pottery.
