Seguso
The Seguso family was documented in the Libro d'Oro as a maker of glass as early as the fourteenth century. Seguso was especially successful in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries because of their extensive international network. In the nineteenth century, Seguso really broke through thanks to the work of Antonio Seguso, who reintroduced old techniques. He thus played a part in the revival of glass after the crisis brought about by the fall of the Republic of Venice. His descendants were also talented glassmakers. In 1933 Seguso Vetri d'Arte was introduced as a brand name, marking an important phase in the continuation of the family tradition. In addition to Seguso Vetri d'Arte, there is also the interior department Seguso Interiors and Seguso Viro, an initiative started in 1993 that puts the individual first. Seguso USA was founded in 1998 by Gianluca and Pierpaolo Seguso.
