Aart van Dobbenburgh (Amsterdam, 30-09-1899 – Haarlem, 3-07-1988) groeit in de 20ste eeuw uit tot een alom gewaardeerd en bekend Nederlands kunstenaar en graficus. Hij wordt vooral bekend door zijn bijzonder verfijnde lithografieën, vaak afgedrukt op flinterdun Japans papier. Zijn lithografieën kennen diverse terugkerende onderwerpen als bloemen, portretten, landschappen en menselijke handen. In de media wordt hij vanaf eind jaren '30 bejubeld als de beste Nederlandse lithograaf uit de 20e eeuw.
Zijn werk is vertegenwoordigd in o.a. de collecties Gemeentemuseum Den Haag; Frans Halsmuseum, Haarlem; Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam; Nederlands Steendrukmuseum, Valkenswaard; Rijks Prentenkabinet, Amsterdam; Singer Museum, Laren; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; Teylers Museum, Haarlem en in vele particuliere collecties over de gehele wereld.
