Biografie:
Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen werd geboren op 1 mei 1874 te Rotterdam. Hij was leerling van de Academie B.K. te Rotterdam. Hij wordt gezien als een der laatste vertegenwoordigers van de Haagse School. Hij woonde en werkte in Rotterdam tot 1898, Den Haag; van 1922 af in Budel (N. Br.). Hij schilderde, aquarelleerde landschappen, met vee, ook interieurs met boerenfiguren, dieren en riviergezichten. Heeft veel geëxporteerd (via de kunsthandel) naar Engeland, Canada en de V.S. Hij overleed te Horn (L.) op 8 januari 1963.
