Arno arts (Boxmeer, June 13, 1947 – Arnhem, April 3, 2018) was a Dutch visual artist. Arts received his training at the Academy of Visual Arts in Arnhem. He started his artistic career by painting porcelain plates. In the early days he mainly made drawings with colored pencil. In addition to drawings, paintings and graphics, he makes sculptures, multiples and conceptual works using mixed techniques. He also worked with glass and ceramics, took photographs and did performances. His work is reminiscent of pop art. He gave motifs from advertising and clichés from popular media a clever twist that can evoke an aha experience in the viewer. Recurring themes within his work include art, artistry and self-portrait. He liked to play with words. For example, one of his mottoes was: a work of arts is a joy forever. Arts' studio was located in an old grocery store in the Klarendal district of Arnhem; the shop windows were decorated by himself or by guest exhibitors with varying installations. Over the years, Arts had repeatedly received publicity for his actions in his hometown. He led master classes and art projects with local residents. He created sculptures in public spaces for commissions and exhibitions. Following the idea of merging Arnhem and Nijmegen, he came up with the name 'arnijm' and created various works of art, including the website to which volunteers could send contributions as a contemporary version of email. Doctor died on April 3, 2018 at the age of seventy after an illness of several months. 6 Works available, preferably sold in 1 purchase
