Der japanische Dichter Ki no Tsurayuki (872-946) war von 930 bis 935 Statthalter der Privinz Tosa auf Shikoku; bei seiner Rückkehr verfaßte er in vollendeter Prosa sein Reisetagebuch, das Tosa Nikki, das erste von einem Mann in japanischer Sprache geschriebene Höflings-Tagebuch. - - - Beschreibung einer Seereise aus dem 1. Jahrhundert n. Chr. zur ersten deutschen Übersetzung dieses japanischen Tagebuches, das beispielhaft für die elegante Sprache und den spielerischen Humor des japanischen Stils angesehen wird. Für das von Franz Blei hrsg. 5. Werk der Sanssouci-Bücher (vgl. Rodenberg 466,5 - EA. WG II 112.5).
