• Ewald Spieker (Amsterdam, August 31, 1950) is a Dutch typographer and visual artist. He has also worked under the pseudonym Lionel Prent. The book Letterlust was published in 2003, for which Ewald Spieker made the letter objects and Kees van Kooten wrote the texts.

Lifecycle Spieker lived in Amsterdam until he was nine and then lived in Leeuwarden and Groningen. At the age of nineteen he returned to Amsterdam to begin studies at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. In 1970 he trained at the graphic design department and was taught by German artist Josua Reichert. In 1974 he completed his training in typography, photography and design. That year he also found the studio to work in the heart of Amsterdam. In 1985 he became a teacher at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. He is Erik Kriek's teacher. In the 1980s, Spieker, Rudi Albert Broens (1947-; pseudonym: Rupi Broth) and Pierre Roth formed the triumvirate De Literaire Loodgieters, which produced bibliophile occasional publications in a limited edition. The Literary Plumbers have published work by Simon Carmiggelt, Vic van de Reijt, Willem Frederik Hermans, Willem van Malsen, Sal Santen and Godfried Bomans, among others.
