• Very sharp, printed on Arches paper - small edition - drypoint etching by Hans Abbing. Year: 1981. Tabletop dimensions: H50 x W33cm. The work is numbered in pencil on the left and signed and dated on the bottom right by the artist. The etching is in very good condition.

After studying economics at the University of Groningen, which he graduated cum laude in 1970, he initially worked in Groningen and later for several years at the Ministry of Culture, Recreation and Social Work. In 1978 he started studying at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, which he left in 1983 with a diploma. Initially he made many paintings and graphics, but later he became more concerned with drawings, often heads or nudes in color, and photography, in which he made extensive use of distortions. In the meantime he was and is also involved in economics, especially the economics of art. From 1990-2005 he taught at the Rotterdam Erasmus University, where he obtained his PhD in 2002. From September 2005 to August 2008, Abbing was professor by special appointment of art sociology at the University of Amsterdam, where he held the Boekman chair.
