Heijman is een kunstenaar die jarenlang werd geïnspireerd door het
Hollandse Landschap met zijn water, dijken en rivieren. Nog altijd
beschouwt Hans Heijman het landschap als zijn uitgangspunt
voor zijn kleurrijke grafiek, hoewel zijn werk zich momenteel meer en
meer afspeelt op het grensvlak tussen abstractie en
figuratie.
Landschappelijke elementen zijn samengevoegd
met oertekens, geabstraheerde partijen en tekenachtige lijnen
wisselen elkaar af. Dit alles, gecombineerd met de volle diepe
kleuren die Hans Heijman in zijn werken gebruikt maakt dat
zijn werken je uitdagen en fascineren tegelijkertijd. Hans Heijman
legt veel symboliek in zijn werk, waarvan hij de gevoelswaarde aan de
kijker overlaat.
