Natalia Dik - still life with bread and pate, among other things

About the painter: Natalia Dik is an honest painter. Simple landscapes, everyday objects, portraits - sometimes commissioned - seem to be affected by light, just as an old jug has started to show scuffs from the hands that have lovingly picked it up a thousand times.
With a palette containing only simple pigments, a set of brushes and a palette knife, Natalia creates the illusion of light on the linen. In her paintings we recognize the depth of the life of the subjects, of the jugs in the attic and of the age-old tradition of realistic painting.
Natalia Dik was born in Novoaltaysk, Siberia. She received the silver medal for her final exams at the Repin Academy of St. Petersburg. This was followed by an international career as a painter in Europe, Africa and America. She received the Rembrandt Painting Award, her work has been shown in the National Portrait Gallery and in the Hermitage, Amsterdam.
