Typerend werk van Reinier Lucassen uit de jaren 80 van vorige eeuw. Het werk is gesigneerd met initialen aan de voorzijde en gesigneerd/gedateerd aan de achterzijde. Een fraaie aanvulling voor verzamelaars/liefhebbers van zijn werk.
Reinier Lucassen wordt vaak genoemd als een Nederlandse exponent van de schilderstroming de 'Nieuwe figuratie'. Hij combineerde elementen uit de pop-art, zoals stripfiguren, met grote felgekleurde vlakken en expressieve elementen. Vanaf 1980 maakt hij kleiner, ingetogener werk dat soms aan schilderingen van aboriginals doet denken; uit eenvoudige punten opgebouwde krachtige tekens. De assemblages die hij maakt zijn opgebouwd uit dagelijkse materialen als hout, blik of rubber die door hun combinatie een nieuwe betekenis lijken te krijgen.
