Serge Poliakoff (Moscow 1900-1969) Is a well-known painter from the post-war abstract art movement in France, the Ecole de Paris.. Poliakoff's abstract work often consists of colorful filled non-geometric surfaces. The work is quite flat with no depth. This work, a gouache, was exchanged in 1960 with a work by the painter Hannes Postma, who was a friend of his, during the Poliakoff exhibition in Galerie d' Eend.
