Het werk is mooi ingelijst met ophangmechanisme.
Op haar zeventiende is Susan Schildkamp haar roeping ("mijn wedergeboorte") als beeldende kunstenares gaan volgen aan de Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunst en de Vrije Academie, beide in Den Haag.
Daarna heeft ze drie jaar tapijten ontworpen voor de Haagse architect Bas van Pelt en in haar eigen atelier geweven. Later heeft zij ontwerpen gemaakt voor De Munk Carpets. Nepalese vrouwen knoopten haar toen al kleurrijke ontwerpen en doen dat nog steeds.
Susan heeft zich in de loop der jaren verder bekwaamd in uiteenlopende schilder- en tekentechnieken: acrylverf, gouache, krijt, potlood en tevens tempera.
