Theo van Delft - Landschap met avondrood - Sold

Theodorus Maria (Theo) van Delft (August 21, 1883 – July 11, 1967) was a Dutch photographer, sculptor, painter and draftsman. Theo or Theodoor van Delft was one of the seventeen children of Theodorus Arnoldus van Delft (1848-1904) and Geertruda Maria Vermeer (1851-1929). He got his artistic interest from home, his father Dorus was a (house) painter and photographer and director of the Municipal Drawing School for over thirty years and his brother Jan van Delft (1879-1952) was also active as a painter and art teacher. Theo received his first lessons from his father and obtained the LO drawing certificate at the Municipal Drawing School. He continued his education at the Royal School for Useful and Visual Arts in 's-Hertogenbosch (1904-1906). He also took lessons from Piet Slager Sr. This work is a pastel drawing. Titled: Landscape with sunset sky. Signed on the bottom right. The dimensions of the work are: 65 cm x 47 cm. The work is framed and fitted with glass. Including the frame, the dimensions are: 72 cm x 53 cm.
