Marius de Jongere - "Bedrijvigheid in de Rotterdamse Haven" - Sold

A beautiful blond work from the Rotterdam harbor of Marinus J. Drulman, often painting under the name Marius the Younger. In particular, the incidence of light on the left and right in the work makes it whole to a beautiful composition and not only in terms of color. Frame dimensions: 41 / 51 cm.
The canvas itself is in fine condition. The list knows a bit more issues. These wooden frames cast with plaster shrink and expand, which means that cracks often appear in the plaster come part. The two upper corners are therefore as far as possible somewhat restored, but it remains vulnerable. Perhaps convenient to pick up the work. Some don't mind but that is at the discretion of the new owner of course.
He was a Dutch watercolourist, etcher, draftsman, graphic artist and painter. He is known as a painter of the Rotterdam ports. It has been suggested that this is a work by L. Scheen. However, the lines of the boats are much tighter than those of L. Scheen. I'll mention it anyway.
