Nina Koch - Hindernis

The very sensual formal language brings abstract concepts to life in the image of the horse jumping over the bushes. The sculpture symbolizes high spirits, strength and wildness.

Nina Koch was born in Dahl / Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis in 1961. 1982-1992 studies at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, design department with Richard Hess 1995-2001 lectureship for "sculptural design" at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, design department. Teaching since 2010. Koch has presented her works in numerous exhibitions in German cities as well as in Italy. She has been awarded several prizes. Most recently in 2005 with the first prize for a memorial for victims of the two world wars in Medebach. In East Westphalia alone, there are eleven large sculptures in public space in Bielefeld, including the mercy seat at the Jodokuskirche and Bacchus on Mirabellenplatz. The Weser raftsman in Bad Oeynhausen. The representative of contemporary realism is known beyond East Westphalia. She designed the prize for the Peace of Westphalia and received the prize and commission for the monument to Luther's wife Katharina von Bora in front of the Lutherhaus in Wittenberg. Koch is deputy chairwoman of the Association of Visual Artists in the "Artists' Special Association in Germany".
