The figurative bronze sculpture communicates abstract themes such as the fall in the image of the "bucking" horse. The structure of the figure stands at the beginning of Koch's sculptural considerations. In the figure, she also answers artistic questions: How far am I abstracting? Where do I specify? How coarse, fine, detailed do I design the shapes? How do I bring life to the characters? The figure evokes a view of the imperfect, the faulty, the contradictory.

Condition
ConditionVery good
Flawless, very well-preserved, figurative bronze sculpture (interpretation of a bucking horse; title of the sculpture: "fallen monument") communicates abstract themes such as high spirits, joie de vivre, but also fear or pain in a successful liveliness. The figure evokes the "fall" through cracks and bumps in the sculpture's surface, roughly worked. The body of the sculpture appears partially frayed, half-finished. The arrangement of the figure as a tectonic structure, the size and direction of the volumes are exceptionally well resolved by the artist. Outstanding craftsmanship and special expressiveness characterize her sculptural works.
Bronze, signature (Koch), Edition 1/6, foundry mark, GUSS BARTH RINTELN.
