Poppe Damave exposeerde in 1947 als Haarlemse kunstschilder in het Frans Hals Museum met ‘Haarlem Jonge Kunst’. In 1961 verkreeg Damave een reisbeurs van het ministerie van OKW voor Griekenland en Turkije. Daarna volgden tentoonstellingen in 1963 onder auspiciën van het Ministerie van Onderwijs, Kunsten en Wetenschappen (OKW) en een reizende expositie door Engeland, vervolgens naar Parijs, Brussel, Maastricht en Groningen.
Hij reisde graag en bezocht o.a. Frankrijk, Spanje, Noord-Afrika, Turkije en Griekenland. Deze tekening is niet gedateerd, maar komt ongetwijfeld uit begin jaren ’60.
