Chmielińskis (pseudonym: Stachowicz) gouache "Wilanów" shows interiors of the Royal Palace in Warsaw around 1936. Chmielińskis lived in Warsaw from 1911 to 1979. He graduated from the "City School for Decorative Arts and Painting" (former drawing class) in Warsaw, the "Akademia Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie", the oldest art school in Poland. He also painted landscapes and rural genre scenes - sleigh rides, sledges, carriages, etc. In 1967-1969 he traveled to Denmark for longer stays. The gouache painting is overall in a very good state of preservation. Only in the lower part of the picture is there an inconspicuous small abrasion (1x3mm). As usual, the gouache has a velvety matt finish, applied in a thin layer without underpainting. The work has been presented under glass. The graphic watercolors are extremely appealing, with a high level of professionalism.
